Care instructions

Ensure your lingerie sustains its look and form with proper care. By following these simple guidelines you can extend your lingerie life cycle and ensure you look and feel your best.

Check the tags and follow manufacturers instructions.

Sous Bodywear recommends intimates be washed in a lingerie bag. Small and large lingerie bags can be purchased at our boutique. By using a lingerie wash bag you ensure that your intimates don't get twisted, tangled and stretched.

Should you remove your tag you can follow some general care instructions:

Wash

Wash in cold water by hand, making sure to rinse thoroughly. If you prefer to wash in the machine (front loader only) use the cycle for delicates or hand wash cycle. Wash in cold water with like colours in a lingerie wash bag.

Avoid soaking or bleaching intimates in order to retain colour and structure.

Dry

Drip dry or flat dry on rack or towel away from sunlight. If you must tumble dry sleepwear or cotton underwear tumble dry on a low, cool setting.  Never place contour (moulded) bras in dryer. They will often loose their shape and the foam cup may get a lumpy appearance.

Press

With the exception of sleepwear, lingerie items do not need to be pressed.

Silk garments can be steamed using a steamer or pressed on the reverse using a damp cloth.

Dry clean

If your tag denotes dry cleaning, you should do so. The instruction may infer that the fabric and structure of the item cannot sustain traditional washing methods or products.

Washing products

Gentle hand soup or liquid detergent for delicates is recommended. Avoid Woolite and harsh detergents that you use with a normal wash. We recommend Wolford Wash which can be purchased at Sous Bodywear.
